GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past seven years, it has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. It unleashes the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world.
This is the first year that St. Joseph School is participating in the Giving Tuesday phenomenon and proceeds from Giving Tuesday will support The Fund for St. Joseph School – providing for academic enrichment programs, technology, tuition assistance, utilities, building maintenance, and many other needs that are not covered by tuition.
Our theme this year is the Matching Challenge because we are fortunate to have very generous supporters who have come forward to match YOUR donations. We hope that you will accept the Matching Challenge by donating AND challenging your friends to do the same.
The students of St. Joseph School work to embody the acts of mercy and transform their community each day. They do so through:
- food and coat drives,
- volunteering at food share,
- AND fundraising for causes dear to our hearts such as
- breast cancer research and support,
- the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Pennies for Patients,
- the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health’s Buckets of Love Program,
- and many more.

Parents, grandparents, and friends of St. Joseph School who make donations of $100 or more on #GivingTuesday will receive special St. Joseph School merchandise! $100 donations receive an SJS red & grey knit hat, $200 donations receive a 60″x 50″ fleece SJS blanket, or donations of $250 or more receive both! Donations of $250 or more also give you the option to spread your donation out over five months. This may be done with a credit card or through FACTS Billing.* (*For SJS families only).
