On a cloudy Monday, the students from Saint Joseph School took it upon themselves to honor their local veterans during the town’s Memorial Day Parade. Led by eighth-grade students, banner holders Emily Macko and Molly Hachigian and sixth-grade student Tenleigh Dowd, the float, driven by Headmaster, Fr. Grzegorz Chodkowski slowly made its way down Main Street. Also leading the float was the new Saint Joseph School mascot, Jojo the Eagle. The pre-kindergarten through eighth-grade students filled the float and entertained the crowds with cheers, smiles, and songs, all the while paying their respects to the veterans. Many parents, faculty, and staff joined the parade, and their presence was a testament to their school spirit and respect for those who served our country. After the parade, eighth-grade student Molly Hachigian played a significant role in the Town Hall Ceremony by leading the crowd in the Pledge of Allegiance, a moment that truly honored our fallen heroes. Great job, Saint Joseph School! Also, a big thank you to JK Auto Body for loaning the school their truck for the parade.
