Lent is a season of reflection, sacrifice, and spiritual growth, and at Saint Joseph School, one cherished tradition that embodies these values is Good Deeds for Jesus. Throughout Lent, students actively deepen their faith by embracing prayer, fasting, and acts of charity. They dedicate themselves to making loving sacrifices and performing good deeds, reinforcing their commitment to living out the Gospel message. Each week, during a special Lenten prayer service held in the school, students receive a flower as a symbol of their kindness and sacrifice. These flowers are carefully arranged into a cross, which is presented during the offertory at Family Mass on Sunday—a powerful visual representation of their devotion to the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy. Alongside the cross, a basket containing all the good deeds submitted by students throughout the week is also offered, serving as a powerful reminder of their devotion to the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy.
