On Friday, April 26th, Ms. Kelly Bailey’s fifth-grade students, with their unwavering enthusiasm and dedication, presented the Living Wax Museum at St. Joseph School. This annual two-part project, which focuses on reading biographies, saw each student immerse themselves in the life of a fascinating figure. They not only read about their chosen person but also dressed up and spoke like them, showcasing their deep understanding of the person’s birth date, childhood, and contributions to our society.

The 2024 Living Wax Museum unfolded on the lawn outside St. Joseph Basilica. Parents and fellow St. Joseph School Students were not just spectators, but active participants in this interactive learning experience. They had the unique opportunity to engage with and learn from the statuesque students, who came to life with every visitor’s approach. The event was a captivating journey through the lives of famous authors, scientists, mathematicians, sports figures, and more, adding a dynamic element to their presentations.

Living wax figures included Abigail Rubin as Queen Elizabeth I, Amelia Potem as Diana Spencer, Ariana Benson as Katherine Johnson, Bella Kicilinski as Amelia Earhart, Evelyn Macko as J.K. Rowling, Gabriel Kenouvong-Ung as George Takei May, Grayson Dollar as Abraham Lincoln, Jacob Manzi as Samuel Slater, James Miranda as Wilbur Wright, Lily Martin as Anna May Wong, Lukas Stock as J.R. Tolkien, Noah Ryan as Alexander Hamilton, and Sophia Surowaniec as Margaret Brown. The event, always a source of joy and fun for the students, is their favorite book report of the year. It’s a testament to the educational and enjoyable nature of the event.
