The Changes We Can Make

I see injustice in many places
Violence, racism, poverty, and terrorism.
These injustices don’t always happen near us
But that doesn’t mean it is not something to discuss.
Martin Luther King, Jr. spoke out against
The injustices that were happening in his time and place.
If I were Dr. King, Jr. today
I would take action without delay.
I would feed the hungry
Find a home for the homeless,
Oppose racism,
Speak out against violence.
I would use peaceful words, not guns to stop violence
Because nonviolence seeks to defeat injustice, not people.
