St. Joseph School is proud to announce that the following students have been inducted into the Eagles Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS): Grade 6 – Leah Boudreau, Kaelyn Lechiara, Gabriela Pianka, Natalie Smith, Vanessa Zeglen; Grade 7 – Andrew Bergeron; Grade 8 – Samantha Keller. Current members include 8th Grade students Dale Boudreau, Gianna DiCola-Keddy, and Maya Podskarbi. The NJHS at St. Joseph School is an organization that promotes recognition for its students who reflect outstanding accomplishments in the areas of scholarship, leadership, character, service, and citizenship.
St. Joseph School students are eligible for an invitation to the National Junior Honor Society at the end of their 6th or 7th Grade academic year. Cumulative Grade Point Averages (GPA) are calculated based on every completed quarter of middle school, starting with the first quarter of 6th Grade. Invitations to complete a Student Information Packet are sent to those with a 3.50 or higher cumulative GPA in the core subjects: Religion, Math, Literature, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, and Spelling. Students must also document their community service hours to be considered for membership.
Membership in the NJHS is a distinction that holds significance throughout a student’s academic life. Honor Society students become ambassadors for St. Joseph School and undertake meaningful service projects in the school and the local community. These service projects often become life-changing experiences for members who discover new passions and callings. Members of the St. Joseph School NJHS regularly volunteer at the Webster-Dudley Food Share and St. Joseph Polish Festival and look forward to these opportunities resuming very soon. Seventh Grade Instructor Karen Lefebvre advises the group. Congratulations, students!
