The St. Joseph School Geography Program recently received a donation of National Geographic Geography books from Mr. Richard “Dixie” Tourangeau. Mr. Tourangeau, a baseball historian and member of the Society for American Baseball Research (SABR), is a former employee of the National Park Service and a graduate of St. Joseph School. The books are a welcome addition to the St. Joseph School library and classrooms. “Each year our students participate in the National Geographic Geography Bee, and the atlases and geographic encyclopedias will be used to help prepare for this competition,” stated Seventh Grade Teacher and Geography Bee Coordinator, Karen Lefebvre. The books will also be used to supplement existing curriculum. Mrs. Lefebvre and Eighth Grade students Edward Doering, David Mankarios, and Caleb Adams accepted the books on behalf of the school.
